ONTARIO PRINCIPALS' COUNCIL

OPC provides a number of key supports and services for its' members.
-The goal of the OPC is to provide our Members with the professional services and supports they need to provide exemplary leadership in public education.
-Ontario Principals' Council, offers a broad range of opportunities dedicated exclusively to the professional development of principals and vice-principals. Programs include workshops, video resources, online learning opportunities and mentoring. Continuous learning means better-prepared principals and better schools for Ontario students.
-The Ontario Principals' Council is an ISO 9001 compliant organization. This means that we have obtained the internationally recognized standard for quality management in the design and delivery of training and professional development programs, and the provision of support services. The quality management system ensures the highest level of products and services for OPC Members
-The OPC Protective Services Team (PST) are experienced elementary and secondary principals. They provide peer support and advice tailored to the specific needs of principals and vice-principals. The OPC General Counsel provides further legal support in protecting the interests of OPC Members.
-Members of the Ontario Principals' Council operate within the ethical guidelines of the Ontario College of Teachers.
-As a professional association, OPC provides a number of additional services and supports to assist Members in their roles as administrators, including

* the OPC website ( www.principals.ca ) with extensive information and communication
* a subscription to The Register, OPC's magazine
* a selection of various networking and mentoring opportunities
* the student leadership award, provided to all Ontario public schools and
* links to other education associations.

-As the collective voice of principals and vice-principals, we:


1- advocate for students
2- promote publicly funded education
3- influence education decision-making at all levels
4- foster positive relations among principals, vice-principals and the broader education community and
5- work with government, district school boards and other members of the education community to ensure exemplary schools for Ontario’s students.
